VIP tour of Daytona International Speedway

The June 27th meeting of the Florida Acura NSX Club was the best ever!   We had ten cars attending with new members Matthew Becker, Gar Vance, Brian Rasche and Mike Morrison making their first meeting to introduce their cars and themselves to the group.

Thanks to Nydra Martin, group sales representative, for a FABULOUS tour of the entire speedway complex.  The highlight of the day was the photo shoot on the 18degree banked front straight at the start/finish line.  Nydra told me they rarely allow car groups to take photos ON THE TRACK.

We had lunch in the Winston Tower in Suite 701, the Speedway home of Bill France, owner of NASCAR.  Now THIS is the way to watch a race....in air conditioned comfort, 14 floors up, with food and drink for everyone.  Yes, NSX club dues will be increasing dramatically next year.

Following the VIP tour, we had the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the many displays and movies featuring the history of competition at the Daytona 500.  It was a fascinating afternoon I'll remember for a long time.
