Road Atlanta Track Days Sept.9-10, 2000
Vince Howard and Wei-Shen Chin checking in at The Chateau Elan at Road Atlanta
Florida members Vince Howard and Wei-Shen Chin made the 8 hour trip to Atlanta, GA, the site of NSXPO 2000, to participate in the Track Days driving school at Road Atlanta. This is a two day driving school with multiple run groups and some really neat cars.
Road Atlanta is a 2-mile 12-turn track set in the hills northeast of Atlanta. The track is AWESOME with marked elevation change and many technical corners. I was able to reach 145mph on the back straight before braking hard for the 9-10 combination before cresting the hill where the earth FALLS AWAY and you're looking at the sky. You know the track is there somewhere below you to the right....very intimidating. The track is the Laguna Seca of the east.
Since I'm updating the site from our hotel room at Atlanta Airport I'll upload some pictures and minimal copy. More story later when I get back to Orlando.
