Orlando to Los Angeles: April 30 - May 5, 1999
We headed out of Orlando on the afternoon of April 30th. Our first social gathering was Houston where we met a group of enthusiastic Southcentral members led by Andy Vecsey. There was a gathering at Andy's house followed by a great dinner at Escalante's.
The following morning it was off to El Paso, 740miles west on I-10. Thanks to Jan and John Foster for their gracious hospitality and the use of their driveway to clean our bug-infested cars.
With John Foster aka "Snow White" leading the way, our group made Phoenix by the afternoon of May 3rd. A dust storm with 50mph winds greeted us when arrived at our hotel. Later that night we had dinner at Biltmore Fashion Square and met up with a large Phoenix group the next morning for our trip to LA.
We arrived in Santa Clarita north of LA late that afternoon. Dinner followed at the nearby Macaroni Grill. 5 Japanese NSX Club members flew in from Osaka to join the party.
After a restless night, the stage was set for a 37-car caravan to Monterey the morning of May 5.
