NSXCApades, social events, March 16th-18th, Miami area
March 16th-18th, 2001 marks our third Miami area NSX meeting fondly known as NSXCApades! The events will center around the Chin Motorsports track event at Homestead-Miami Speedway running all day Saturday March 17th.
NSXers will be everywhere! We are expecting 8-10 cars on track, several more in the pits, with NSX social events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Here's the tentative schedule: (in case you get lost, my cell is 407-832-0176)
Friday March 16th:
7:30am departure for Orlando area NSXers from the Perkins at south Orange Blossom Trail and the Turnpike/Bee Line interchange....the restaurant is south of the interchange and on the west side of the street. This is a convenient meeting point for all Orlando NSXers....please arrive with a full gas tank and empty bladder.
12:30pm to 2:30pm....autocross with Bridgestone/Firestone at Pro Player Stadium in Miami. Bridgestone is introducing a new high-performance tire the S-03 Pole Position. We have been invited to participate in a driving event sponsored by them. The event is FREE. If you arrive early, please indicate that you are with the NSX Club and are part of Dr. Chin's group.
4pm to 6pm.....registration and tech inspection at the Hampton Inn, Florida City, 305-247-8833
7pm.....informal dinner at the Mutineer Restaurant, located across Palm Drive from the Hampton Inn
Saturday March 17th:
7am to 5pm....full track day at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Spectators welcome. There is no charge to watch. $20 to ride with your fellow NSXers out on the track. Rental helmets available.
7:30pm.....group dinner at Captain's Tavern, 9621 South Dixie Highway (US 1), 305-666-5979 (we have seating for 20)...caravan leaves the Hampton Inn at 7pm
rest of evening goofing off and cruising around Miami
Sunday March 18th:
10am departure from the Hampton Inn, Florida City
11am....brunch at the Rusty Pelican...$30/person including tax and tip...fabulous buffet on Key Biscayne
1pm.....drive to lighthouse on Key Biscayne, Miami tour!
3pm....adjourn and head home!
