Welcome to the homepage of NSXcapades 2010.  Here you will find event details and information for the weekend of Dec.4-5 where a series of NSX related events are planned in and around Bella Collina, Clermont, and Orlando FL.  Thank you for registering for this event!

Event Schedule:

Friday Dec.3

Arrival of golfers at the Hampton Inn and Suites Clermont.

Note that Rt.50 is under construction.  Use the BACK entrance of the hotel for easy entry and exit.  This is located on Sky Top drive which parallels Rt.50 to the north.

Directions:  Exit turnpike at #272 and head west (turn left) on Rt. 50.  You will pass Headquarter Honda in one mile on the left.  This is the location of the Sunday brunch.  Continue west 3 miles on Rt.50 until you see a blue/green water tower on the right at the top of a hill.  The Hampton Inn is located next to it.  Turn right on Hancock Road (McDonalds) and immediately turn left onto Skytop Drive.  Follow Sky Top drive west to reach the hotel entrance which will be on your left.

There are many restaurants nearby including Carrabas, Panera Bread, Ruby Tuesday, and McDonalds.  Starbucks is across Rt.50 on the south side, the meeting point for our Sunday morning drive. Walgreens 1/2 block away. 

Saturday Dec.4

  the par 3, 227yd 7th hole...don't miss short or left!

7am departure from the lobby of the hotel, caravan to Bella Collina for golf!  Directions if you miss the group departure:

Exit Hampton Inn via back entrance, turning right on Sky Top (heading east).  Turn right onto Hancock Rd. and immediately left on Rt. 50 heading east.  Turn left at Rt.455 (approx. 1 mile), Discount Tire and Hess gas station on left.  Follow 455 north until it ends after crossing over turnpike.  Turn left (following Rt.455 north).  Golf course entrance on the right approximately 2 miles.  Identify yourself to guard as part of my group (Chin) and be prepared to present ID.  Follow entrance road around turnabout and head up the hill (under 455 bridge) towards the clubhouse.  Go in the main entrance on right after passing first garage, up the short hill and into the RIGHT side outside parking lot.  Tell attendants you are with the Chin group at 8am.  They will take your bags directly to your cart.  Walk through main entrance, past golf shop and to cart loading area (fountain).  Secure your personal belongings and follow signs to driving range.  Be at the range NO LATER THAN 730am.

As you can see, this is a LONG golf course.  I would recommend the following.

Women play from the Bella tees.  You will still outdrive your husbands, causing much jealousy and consternation.

Men, play from the member tees, unless you are a 10 handicap or less (and/or have a very high horsepower modified NSX and feel that you have to prove something).  Of course you are welcome to pay from the Faldo tees....but remember that lunch is at 1pm.

A reminder that sand is a hazard.  There is LOTS of it.

LUNCH FROM 1PM to 3PM

For those NOT playing golf, please arrive at Bella Collina by 1230pm.  Park in the upstairs outside "right" parking lot and find your way to the 19th Hole Restaurant.  Please tell the staff that you are with the Chin Lunch group and they will seat you together.  Please order from the menu when you get there and DO NOT WAIT for the whole group to arrive.  Since we did not cater the event, the kitchen cannot accommodate 27 people ordering all at once.  The food is EXCELLENT.  I would recommend the sweet potato fries as your side!  Order anything you wish off the menu.  Our budget has included pretty much anything you can eat and drink.  I would suggest refraining from alcoholic beverages at any car related event.

Turnpike to exit 272.  Left (west) on Rt.50 for 3 miles.  Right on Rt.455.  Turn left when road ends at T (stop sign) after crossing over turnpike. Bella Collina entrance approximately 2 miles on the right.  Let guard know you are part of the Chin NSX gathering and be prepared to show ID.

3PM departure for the Citrus Tower

The Citrus Tower is the highest point in south Lake County rising to a height of 225 ft.  There are expansive views of the surrounding lakes and neighborhoods. Admission is $4 and each person is responsible for their own fees.

5pm return to hotel rest and relax

630pm departure from hotel to 7pm dinner at Aji Sushi and Teppan

Directions:  Turnpike to Exit 267A.  Head SOUTH on SR429 and get off at first exit Rt.535.  Turn right at bottom of ramp.  Turn right at second light and enter Winter Garden Village.  Aji Sushi and Teppan on right after second turnabout, across street from Barnes and Noble and Bonefish.  We will try to arrange group parking south and west of the main restaurant entrance.

Dinner menu will be the same for all of us.  You may trade entrees to obtain the meat of your liking (shrimp, chicken, or beef).  Menu is as follows:

salad with ginger dressing

Miso soup

fried rice, fried noodles, mixed vegetables

shrimp, chicken AND beef

soft drink of your choice

alcoholic beverages NOT included

After dinner, we will take a poll on whether individuals would like to go to Universal Studios or go karting at Lil 500 in Maitland.  The more you eat, the less likely you'll go karting!  THE COSTS FOR UNIVERSAL AND KARTING ARE NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR REGISTRATION AND ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

SUNDAY DEC.5

PLEASE ARRIVE AT STARBUCKS WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS.  USE RESTROOMS AT STARBUCKS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE.
 

830am gather at Starbucks Clermont southwest corner of Rt.50 and Hancock Rd.  This is a FREE STANDING store and not the store in the Target on the north side of Rt.50
